This is one of seven rugs we received in early 2014. These are the only examples of this pattern. The imagery is an inventory of weapons used in Afghanistan during the past 35 years, ranging from the Enfield 303's used in the early 1980s, through the land mines, grenades, and artillery that later was repurposed for IEDs, to the stealth drones of the past few years.
The condition of this rug is new and excellent. The quality of the materials and craftsmanship is also excellent.
This is one of the last 4 of these rugs, of which only three will be sold so two can be kept for our archive.

Wool: The wool in this carpet is the best quality available. It is high quality wool from Ghazni Afghanistan and imported wool from Arabia. The sheep is sheered, the wool is washed, then the wool is carded and spun by hand to preserve the softness and luster. The wool is not dyed. The wool is the same color it was when it was on the sheep, which is very unusual. | Sheen: Excellent, particulary the white color | Handle: Strong, sturdy and firm. It's not floppy like the Baluchi rugs on warrug.com, but the rug is thicker with a thicker foundation so it is less flexible.

Selvedge: Two cords flat white wool. Subtle features, like the selvedges are different amongst this group of rugs suggesting the were woven by different weavers, rather than by one weaver sequentially. | Fringe: Persian closure, and short white fringe | Pile: 6mm deep wool pile
