Condition: Overall condition good. Small ink stain at intersection of Kabul, Kapisa, Parchvan, and Kanerz provinces. This rug could use a wash, dirt areas: border of Baheen and Oruzagan provinces, middle of Oruzagan province.
Wool: Dense, but slightly sharp and dry
Sheen: Okay, limited. Very new so minimal oxidation.
Handle: Strong side of floppy
Selvedge: Left side: one cord blue wool overcast. Right side: two cord blue wool overcast. There is a second cord on left side, but it is obscured by pile from asymmetrical left knots that break to left and slightly cover selvedge.
Fringe: 2S
Pile: 5mm - 6mm. Lots of natural undyed wool, both light and dark. Knots from back are at an angles. The left node is lower and narrower than right node.
Warp: 2S Natural colored wool
Weft: Dark grey cotton, double wefted
Warp Depression: minimal to none.
