This rug is in excellent condition - except, painfully, for several small areas of moth damage. Please see photos and damage is reflected in price.
There are documented examples of this design dating to the first half of the 1980's, and the color, sheen, polish on back all indicate this is a rug of that group.
Two dime-sized and one quarter-sized area of moth damage around the right lower edge of the rug and one small dime-sized area in the top left corner.

Selvedge: Very tightly braided goat hair selvedge with excellent coverage. | Fringe: Black and tan naturally colored wool weft substitution in a geometric repeating diamond pattern surrounded by short bands of black and tan plain weave on either side. End threads are slightly damaged and beginning to unravel. No knots at the base of the bottom fringe, braided closure on the top fringe are beginning to become unraveled on the left due to wear. | Pile: 5mm
