Size: 36 x 56 inches
(92 x 142 cm)
Origin: Afghanistan
Style: Landscape Pictorial War Rugs

Condition: This war rug is in new condition with full pile and good colors. This war rug shows a town with tanks going down the main street. Please note the trees sticking out from each side of the main street. This kind of reflected, or specular, design is familiar
Wool: Good wool in this rug. There are several marled colors where two colors are spun together into one thread. Different colors are spun from different wools. The blue is the best wool. The tan color (with planes) has a unique color and is probably camel's
Sheen: Good overall with some variety between colors. The undyed colors are shiny, and the blue has a satin luster.
Handle: Floppy
Selvedge: Thick gauge goat hair overcast and braided.
Fringe: Kilim ends are removed leaving kinky fringe with residue of lost kilim colors on fringe threads.
Pile: 6mm
Warp: Tightly spun natural color wool.
Weft: Double shoot grey cotton.
Warp Depression: Mixed warp depression, but mostly about 30 degrees
