This new Afghan war rug is in excellent condition. The first rug we ever bought was one of this pattern. Rug 315 has good drawing, meaning the overall layout and composition work well together. The helicopters and tanks are nicely laid out down the middle of the field and the AK-47's are accurately drawn and point in the same direction. Some people have wondered if the AK's pointing in the same direction mean it is a prayer rug, this is possible. The airplane border on this rug is simple and attractive. The best thing about this rug though is the color. The red if bright and vivid and the red contrasts the other colors very well.
This type of rug is essentially a Bokara rug with the guls replaced by weapons.
Another nice feature of this rug is the explosions coming out of the cannons on the tank.
Wool: Dense and thick short pile. Sheen: Good. Handle: Floppy. Selvedge: Two cord red wool overcast.
Fringe: One inch cotton kilim, overhand knots and almost no fringe. Pile: 4mmWarp: Undyed cottonWeft: Red wool, nice!
Warp Depression:Minimal warp depression
