Excellent condition. The field blue color is that best of Herati blues. Slightly darker than cobalt with good depth and resonance.
Wool: Very fine wool. Young, but dense and soft Sheen: Very good. Handle: Floppy but more body than typical Baluchi Selvedge: Tightly woven braided goat hair
Fringe: Bottom has 2 inches blue plain weave kilim with unusual red weft substitution. Above and below red is twisted strands of red and green weft brocade. Persian closure is unusual because loops around warps many times, so it is thicker than usual Pile: 4mmWarp: Natural wool 1Z1SWeft: Grey cotton
Warp Depression:45 to 60 degrees, a little to tight to give corduroy texture
