The condition of this rug is new. The wool is traditionally of good quality and the weavers did definitely not disappoint.
This is one of the first of the red Turkmen rugs with American weapons in this format. The tank borders is really nicely done and the addition of Chinook helicopters makes this an extraordinary piece for collectors and non-collectors alike.
Wool: The wool has a nice, thick pile and is slightly dry. Sheen: The sheen is normal for a new rug and will become quite beautiful over time. Handle: The handle on this war rug is nicely firm and resilient. Selvedge: The selvedge is of 2 cord grey wool.
Fringe: The fringe on this war rug is of 1 inch cotton kilim overhand knots and has almost fringe in the common known sense. Pile: 5mm wool.Warp: The warp on this war rug is of beige cotton.Weft: The weft is of red cotton.
Warp Depression:minimal to 15 degrees
